The adult programs offered at Phillis Wheatley Community Center focus on physical activity and well-being. From pickleball to group line dancing, come have some fun!
Pickleball
Pickleball is the Upstate’s fastest growing sport! It’s a fun sport that combines many elements of tennis, badminton and ping-pong. It can be played both indoors or outdoors on a badminton-sized court and a slightly modified tennis net. Players have a paddle and a plastic ball with hole and play as doubles or singles.
At Phillis Wheatley, we have 3 indoor courts for adults to enjoy through our partners at Greenville County Parks and Recreation.

Library
Home to the first library for African Americans in Greenville County, education has long been a core value of the Phillis Wheatley Community Center and reestablishing the library was a top priority after the Grand Reopening of the Center. From generous donations of books and furnishings from area schools, private collections, and local businesses, the library reopened in November of 2021.
Though times have changed a bit since the early 1900’s, the library at PWCC remains a place for reflection and quiet learning. But with the addition of modern technology, it has been transformed into a space where you are as likely to find participants from our Senior Social streaming on-line exercise classes as you are to find a volunteer helping a child learn to read.
The library is open during our regular operating hours and is for all ages. We ask that you enjoy the books, puzzles and records in the library room for now. We will be launching a check-out system soon.

Soul Line Dancing
Every week, come join a fun group for Soul Line Dancing! From beginners to practiced groovers, all are welcome.
No formal sign in is required, just sign in at the door.
